DCA Announces Formation of Three Business Units for Growing and Diverse Customer Base

Cushing, OK (March 14, 2008) - DCA is pleased to announce the formation of three distinct business units to provide optimal focus on their expanding and diverse customer base.

Media Manufacturing Solutions will focus on the development of products for the production of pre-recorded and recordable media, including the areas of authoring support, media transfer, content analysis, encryption, logical verification, signal processing, plant scheduling, trend analysis, archiving and server solutions. This group will be responsible for the development, sales and support of Viper, Titan and the Commander product family.

Co-Developed Custom Solutions exists to provide research and development of new technologies and solutions which in turn are designed to create new business units & opportunities. Genesys product family is focused on the creation of new optical and magnetic data storage formats, as well as non data storage applications including nano-structures and DOE patterns. Custom format development including Xbox and other anti-piracy solutions are handled in this business unit.”

The Intellectual Property Business Unit provides identification, prosecution, litigation coordination and licensing of DCA IP. DCA IP portfolio includes anti-piracy, media manufacturing, recording optimization, forensics, content source authentication, energy management and distribution.

In making these changes, DCA has promoted Eric Carson to Business Unit Manager for Media Manufacturing Solutions. Eric will be responsible for worldwide sales and support, as well as product design & direction for Pre-Mastering, Mastering, Plant Management & OEM Integration. Eric will continue to maintain responsibility for worldwide deployment of the DiscTag workflow for both DCA & third-party partner products.

DCA’s management team remains strong going forward, with Doug Carson continuing to set the vision and course for DCA going forward by taking charge of the Co-Developed Custom Solutions unit. Mike Griffith oversees the Intellectual Property unit, as well as day-to-day operations of DCA. Bryan Whitfield continues as Director of Engineering, Boon Kelly, as CTO, maintains architectural oversight, while John Queen persists in achieving ever increasing quality as the Product Release Manager.

Bryan Whitfield promoted to Director of Support & Engineering

Cushing, OK (December 15, 2006) - Effective December 15, 2005, Bryan Whitfield has been promoted to Director of Support & Engineering for DCA. In this role, Bryan is responsible for worldwide technical support & the day-to-day operations of the DCA engineering group. Bryan will continue to serve as the Product Manager for Commander & the DCA network products.

Bryan has over 20 years of experience in information technology, software development, and management. His experience comes from a cross section of industries including multi-national Fortune 500 corporations to founding an Internet services company in 1995.

Bryan will be supported by Rich Wall, who continues as Technical Support Manager, and the entire worldwide technical support team, including locations in the U.S., Germany, Japan, Malaysia, and India. Bryans work with engineering will involve coordination with Product Manager, Eric Carson and the Product Release Manager, John Queen.

Sonopress First Playable HD DVD made with DCA DiscTag Enabled workflow components

Cushing, OK (April 27, 2006) Doug Carson & Associates, Inc. (DCA) proudly announces that Sonopress in Weaverville, NC has produced their first playable run of HD DVD discs today using DCA DiscTag Enabled workflow components, including Viper Loader, MIS Pro HD DVD formatter and Viper Verify applications. Glass mastering was performed on the Singulus 266 LBR.

The DiscTag Enabled workflow uses a unique marker on each layer as a key to retrieve a Gold Reference HCRC value and XML metadata from a network location and enable automatic physical testing with HCRC logical verification. The XML metadata contains customer, catalog, format type, and job report information for each application that touches the title. HCRC values provide verification of the replica against the original source data without the need for the original source to be present, while additionally reporting individual miscompare errors by sector and radius location.

Cinram Manufacturing in Olyphant, Pennsylvania, Deluxe Digital Studios High Definition Media Center in Burbank, California and TOEMI Media Solutions, Ltd. in Tokyo, Japan have all purchased and installed DCAs HD-DVD solution, with Cinram & Deluxe also purchasing Blu-Ray capable equipment. DCA has integrated with the ODC-Nimbus Dual-Beam HD LBR, Singulus 266, and Sony PTM during these installations. TOEMI Media Solutions, Ltd. took delivery in November, 2005, followed by Cinram and Deluxe Digital Studios High Definition Media Center in December, 2005.

DCA and Microsoft Prelaunch Xbox 360 in Cushing, Oklahoma

Cushing, OK (October 26, 2005) - In anticipation of the official release of the Xbox 360, DCA and Microsoft held a prelaunch event before an audience of about 770 high school students, educators and residents of Cushing, Oklahoma - the hometown of DCA and DCA founder Doug Carson.

The main purpose of the prelaunch event was to show the local students and residents that all things are possible for them, even in a small town in Oklahoma. The students were able to see the Xbox game console, some of its innovative features, and also listen to Doug Hebenthal, Microsofts director of Xbox platform describe the platform.

DCA has been involved with Microsoft since the initial Xbox release, and continues to work with Microsoft on the game console media.

DCA HD DVD-ROM Formatter Purchased by Toshiba Japan

Tokyo, Japan (December 7, 2004) - DCA is pleased to announce the sale of an HD DVD-ROM Formatter to Toshiba. The package also includes MIS V8 Signal Processor, PCS pit geometry controller and DDP Loader. The equipment will be installed at Toshiba-EMI's Gotemba Plant.

Rich Wall promoted to DCA Technical Support Manager

Cushing, OK (September 9, 2004) - Effective September 9, 2004, Rich Wall has been promoted to Technical Support Manager for DCA. In this role, Rich is responsible for overall management of technical interactions, including technical support, with DCA customers. This includes identifying new ways to better meet customers' tech support needs and enhancing existing ones. Rich has been involved in technical support at DCA for over six years, much of the time as the main contact for customers worldwide.

Rich will be supported by Brandon Turk and Scott Pearce in the North America market, Wolfram Lucke in Europe, Kiyohiko Mita in Japan and Alex Lee in Asia. In addition, Rich will coordinate any needed help from Software and Engineering.

"We are very pleased that Rich has taken over the Technical Support Manager role for DCA. His willingness to help our customers worldwide at all hours of the day or night serves as a great example to the entire organization. You can be sure that his team will continue to provide you the best support available," says Kevin Zacharias, VP Engineering.

DCA HD-DVD Technology shown at DVD Forum General Meeting

Tokyo, Japan (February 27, 2004) - During the DVD Forum General Meeting on February 26th and 27th, the Working Group 11 (WG11) hosted a workshop demonstrating the HD-DVD technology from five companies. DCA demonstrated its V8/HD DVD system and displayed HD DVD discs made with DCA Genesys, Pulstec demonstrated their prototype tester, Sanyo demonstrated their blue lasers, and NEC and Toshiba demonstrated HD DVD players. Prodisc Technology Completes Training and Acceptance of DCA Genesys Signal Processor

Cushing, OK (February 20, 2004) - Prodisc Technology (Optical Disc Manufacturing) of Taiwan recently completed their training and acceptance of the DCA Genesys Signal Processor at DCAs headquarters in Cushing, Oklahoma.

Representing Prodisc were Sheng-Lung Tsai, Senior Engineer and Hao-Chia Liao, Manager. Assisting was Steven Huang, Service Engineer for Aceway Metrotec, DCAs Agent for Taiwan and China.

Genesys is designed to generate a wide range of signals required for new optical and magnetic disc formats. Genesys allows companies involved in format design to engage in fast prototyping of pre-recorded, recordable and re-writable formats. Genesys can be configured with up to four signal channels, each of which is assigned its own dedicated server computer; each channel utilizes a DCA designed modulation or deflection generator. These generators are capable of creating virtually any modulation, write strategy and deflection patterns at up to 100Mhz.

The Genesys unit will be installed in Prodisc's main facility in Taipei, Taiwan. This will be the seventh Genesys unit to be installed worldwide by DCA.
